Reliance Appoints New President, CEO of Reliance E&P DMCC
Reliance Industries has announced the appointment of Mr. Walter Van De Vijver as President and CEO, Reliance Exploration & Production DMCC, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries. Mr. Van De Vijver, who brings decades of global expertise and leadership in the E&P business, will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the RIL's current portfolio of international assets. He will also focus on developing the
company's E&P portfolio in North America and other high potential countries globally.
Mr. Van De Vijver succeeds Mr. Atul Chandra, who will work with the Chairman's office as Senior Adviser on International business opportunities. Mr. Walter Van De Vijver has been associated with Reliance Industries as an Advisor over the last three years.
Mr. Walter Van De Vijver is the former Group Managing Director of Shell and has also been the Chief Executive Officer of Shell's Global E&P business. He joined Shell in 1979 and during the 25 years with Shell, Mr. Van De Vijer has gained extensive technical and managerial experience in both the upstream and downstream oil industries in various countries including The Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States of America, Qatar and Oman.
Mr. Van De Vijver, holds a MSc. Degree in Civil Engineering from the Delft University of Technology and was formerly the CEO and Co-Founder of Delta Hydrocarbons B.V.
