EPL Achieves Record Production Rates

Energy Partners reported that its net production reached a record high exceeding 25,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (Boe/d) on August 27, 2003, and averaged in excess of 23,700 Boe/d for the week ended August 27, also a record high for the Company.

Richard A. Bachmann, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of EPL, commented, "We are very pleased with the performance of the new wells we have placed onstream during the third quarter and with the performance of our construction and production staff in completing these projects on schedule. With current production levels where they are, and absent significant future disruptions in production due to tropical weather, we expect our production to come in comfortably within our guidance range of between 21 and 23 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day for the third quarter."
