Bluewater Wins Contract for Haewene Brim FPSO

Shell's subsidiary, Enterprise Oil, has awarded Bluewater Energy's subsidiary, Pierce Production Company, a contract to provide water injection facilities onboard the Haewene Brim FPSO.

The Haewene Brim FPSO has been producing on the Shell UK operated Pierce field since February 1999 and currently exports some 30,000 bopd via shuttle tankers.

Bluewater will also be responsible for project management activities on Shell's behalf. Main components of the water injection unit are the deaerator tower, pumps and filter units. The Capital expenditure for this project is estimated at around 50 million GBP.

The FPSO is scheduled to come off station in the 3rd quarter of 2004 while water injection facilities are installed at a shipyard in Western Europe. The shipyard contract is expected to be awarded in the fourth quarter of 2003. Modifications to the FPSO are expected to take about seven weeks. The Haewene Brim will be back on the Pierce field with the water injection facilities operational late in the 3rd quarter of 2004. New water injection facilities will be capable of handling 95,000 barrels of injected water per day.

"Bluewater is pleased to be able to supply these water injection facilities to the FPSO Haewene Brim. The addition of water injection capability helps to maintain field pressure and optimise oil recovery, thus extending the economic life of the Pierce field and for the Haewene Brim." stated Ruud Zoon, Vice President of Floating Production, Bluewater Energy Services B.V.
