Ocean Tower Sale Closes; Rig Renamed

MMEER Marshall Island LLC, a Mike Mullen Company, has closed on the purchase of the Ocean Tower, a LeTourneau 350' independent leg cantilever jackup from Diamond Offshore. The unit has been re-flagged to Marshall Islands and the new name is the Sea Tower. The new owner is pursuing international accommodation, production and construction support contracts for the unit. The sales price was not disclosed.

The rig suffered damage to its derrick and drilling drillfloor when Hurricane Ike came through the Gulf of Mexico in September 2008.
