VMAX Technologies Unveils New Subsea Simulation Software
VMAX Technologies is driving up standards across the subsea oil and gas industry with the launch of the innovative program Project Simulator Version 1.6 for full field simulation and visualization.
The newly enhanced software reflects the company's commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its customers by constantly challenging business development barriers and developing progressive software solutions.
The launch comes as VMAX celebrates its first year in business during which it has established itself as a world-leader in physics-based project simulation.
During Q3 of 2009, VMAX also delivered a fully-physics based deployment scenario for the revolutionary ROVDrill® seabed coring system to Seafloor Geoservices Inc and is continuing work on a scenario which allows for the mating of the manned LR7 submarine rescue vehicle with the USS Jimmy Carter.
Built upon the proven physics based VMAX Project Simulator Suite, V1.6 brings another dimension to ROV pilot training and mission planning through the use of trainee task logging tools and an expanded suite of generic training scenarios including a jacket survey scenario using non-destructive testing tools. It also includes a number of on-line training videos for teach scenario developers how to create field level scenarios in-house.
VMAX Technologies is part of the Aberdeen-headquartered Triton Group. General manager Terry Lease said, "Version 1.6 builds on the success of the earlier V1.5 program which has proven to be an invaluable tool for subsea operators by allowing them to take complete control of the simulation experience; helping to reduce risk, increase efficiency and create an overall reduction in project costs.
"This launch is the result of a lengthy research and consultation process and is reflective of our commitment towards keeping our technology at the leading edge to help our oil and gas customers stay ahead of the challenges facing the industry."
The newly released software and the enhanced scenarios are now a standard part of the training courses offered by members of the Triton Group and its affiliates in the Houston, Brazil, Singapore, and Aberdeen. VMAX has steadily worked to leverage the group companies and affiliates to expand its service base in both China and Brazil.
Formed in 2007, Triton Group comprises eleven companies offering a range of products and services to the subsea energy industry centered on engineering and technology, product manufacture and system integration, and operations support and services.
Having recently completed its ninth acquisition in deals totaling more than £100million in two years, the Group companies are Perry Slingsby Systems, Sub-Atlantic, UK Project Support Ltd (UKPS), Subco, Cynergetix Pty Ltd, Dynamic Positioning Services Ltd (DPS), Geoscience Earth and Marine Services Inc (GEMS), VisualSoft, VMAX, Seafloor Geoservices Inc (SGI) and ETS.
