OGDC Hits Hydrocarbons Onshore Pakistan
State-owned Oil and Gas Development Corp. (OGDC) announced Tuesday that it has discovered oil and gas at its Nashpa-1 exploratory well onshore Pakistan, according to a statement issued to the Karachi Stock Exchange.
Located in the Karak district of the North West Frontier Province in Pakistan, the Nashpa-1 well has produced 3,000 barrels a day of oil and 9.678 million standard cubic feet per day of gas, said OGDC. This is OGDC's second discovery in the block.
The first discovery, Mela-1, was announced in September 2006 and reportedly tested 4,100 barrels per day of oil and 12 million cubic feet of gas per day, according to Dow Jones Newswires.
