Noble Energy Wins Award for Environmental Protection in Piceance Basin
Noble Energy announced that the Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) awarded Noble Energy a 2008 Outstanding Oil and Gas Operations Award for environmental protection and safe operation in the Project Rulison area of the Piceance Basin. The award was presented by Harris Sherman, Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources and David Neslin, Director of the COGCC, at the Colorado Oil & Gas Association Rocky Mountain Natural Gas Strategy Conference and Investment Forum on July 8, 2009.
"We are honored to be recognized as an environmental leader in this highly-regulated area," said David L. Stover, Noble Energy's President and Chief Operating Officer. "The COGCC award demonstrates our efforts to responsibly find and produce hydrocarbons in a manner that protects the public health, our employees, and the environment where we operate."
As one of the largest oil and gas producers in the state, Noble Energy operates in the Piceance and the Denver Julesberg (DJ) Basins of Colorado, including the Wattenberg field and the Eastern DJ Niobrara play.
