Electro-Flow Controls (EFC), an Aberdeen-based leading designer and manufacturer of Instrumentation, Monitoring and Control Systems for the global oil and gas industry, successfully completed over $3 million of work for the Brazilian market in the last two years.
EFC sees the area as a priority for the future growth of the company, with it now accounting for approximately 10% of overall turnover. As such, representatives are attending Brasil Offshore, the leading trade show for the oil and gas industry in South America, later this month (June 16-19).
The company, which employs more than 50 people at its bases in Aberdeen, UK, and Houston, Texas, recently appointed a local partner, MTA de Macae, to help build the connections needed to secure additional work in the region and plans to have EFC staff based there by the year end.
EFC managing director John Wheeler said, "Establishing this new working relationship has been extremely beneficial to EFC and has already helped us to tender for and win new work in Brazil.
"EFC designs and manufactures a sophisticated range of bespoke products ideally suited for the deeper water and higher reservoir pressures involved in Brazil. Our equipment meets exacting Brazilian operator specifications and standards, offering cost-effective and time-saving technology that can be easily integrated within existing frameworks."
He added, "EFC views Brasil Offshore as a very important opportunity to meet potential clients and continue to strengthen the relationships we have. Clients include Petrobras, QGOG, Transocean, Noble Drilling, Diamond Offshore, Petroserv, Dolphin and Pride International."
