Castrol Offshore Boosts Supply Leadership Among World's Drillers
Castrol Offshore has signed a global lubricants supply contract with another of the world's largest and best-known offshore drilling companies.
The award highlights the global supply credentials of Castrol Offshore and its ability to service drilling contractors and operators in all regions of the world, even in the most challenging of offshore environments.
The drilling contractor, which operates a fleet of approximately 140 rigs across some 23 countries, chose Castrol Offshore following a lengthy and detailed assessment of all international lubricant suppliers. This focused on global service and supply capabilities, technical leadership, reliability and environmental solutions.
The company now receives consistent supply and service for all of its lubricant needs from Castrol Offshore globally.
"This win positions Castrol Offshore as the clear market leader in offshore lubricants and the primary supplier to the top global drilling companies," said Carmen Pino, Americas Director for Castrol Offshore.
The value of the contract was not disclosed but represents a significant boost, adding material growth to the global Castrol Offshore business.
Castrol Offshore's superior technical expertise is already delivering results following the award. The customer is benefiting from the transition after Castrol's technical engineers rationalized its lubricants portfolio by over 75% across the fleet, resulting in cost and operational efficiencies.
Technical excellence was further demonstrated through the development of specific lubrication manuals for each rig, which identify the most effective product for each and every application.
"This latest contract award underlines not only the inherent value of our products and supply capabilities, but also the expertise of our people and the operational value arising from the services that we provide," said George Stalter, Sales Manager for Castrol Offshore.
"The worldwide offshore industry is expanding rapidly and drilling contractors are being tasked with working in ever more arduous conditions -- wherever they may go, we will be with them right by their side."
