Knight Oil Tools™ announces its newest effort toward providing superior quality equipment and service to its customers, President Mark Knight said. Knight debuted its new patent-pending inspection program, KIP®, an interactive quality assurance innovation, at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) on May 4, in Houston.
KIP® is a touch-screen computer system allowing technicians and inspectors to retrieve technical data, review reference material and record inspection results right from the shop floor.
The key benefit of KIP® is ensuring thorough and consistent inspections at all Knight locations. KIP® walks inspectors through each step of the inspection process. The system records critical data and prompts the technicians and inspectors to enter information and approve components. If there is a question about the correct part or tool to use, KIP® delivers the answer in text and video formats directly to the workstation on the shop floor.
"We have invested a great deal of time, talent and resources into making KIP® a success because we are sure this will enhance what we offer our clients," Knight said. "The result is saving our clients time and money on every project. The bottom line is consistent quality with every tool, every time."
The advantages KIP® brings are clear notation of inspection results to complete the job at hand; trending capabilities that will benefit Knight and its customers; easy access to information and schematics at Knight locations; and multiple-language formats.
"The KIP® motto is Quality, Consistency and Accountability, so when you see a KIP® label, you know it stands for quality equipment," Knight said.
