Leading international oilfield service company Expro will be reinforcing its position as leader in well flow management at this year's Offshore Technology Conference in Houston by showing some of its latest and innovative technologies.
Chief Executive Officer Graeme Coutts said, "It's been a hugely significant year for Expro. We have invested in a highly focused strategy to position the business as a major provider of key technologies to oil and gas markets, and the strengths of our business will be on show for all to see."
This year's OTC sees the launch of ActiveSONAR™, the next generation in clamp-on sonar metering technology from Expro Meters. Expro Meters develops, manufactures and markets cost-effective clamp-on sonar wellhead surveillance products and services.
The Expro Meters business was created following the successful acquisition last year of the oil and gas division of CiDRA Corporation in Connecticut, US.
Tony Walker, Expro Meters general manager, said, "Our vision is to create, capture and lead the oil and gas clamp-on metering market by providing production surveillance and enabling enhanced field optimization. Our clamp-on sonar-based technology enables cost-effective, real-time surveillance of the production process, enabling improved well flow management. This technology also brings operators a number of benefits, including reduced total cost of ownership, increased mobility and installation without production shutdown."
A range of Expro's market-leading deepwater technology will also be on show – further emphasizing the company’s commitment to technological innovation to access previously 'beyond limits' reserves.
Expro's industry-first 15,000psi deepwater electro-hydraulic subsea landing string controls are on show at OTC this year. This actual deepwater control system was deployed in the Gulf of Mexico, where Expro successfully installed and commissioned 10 deepwater wells. Already used extensively in the North Sea, Africa and the US, Expro's subsea safety systems are in demand in deepwater projects in the Gulf of Mexico, West Africa, Brazil and Asia.
A range of Expro's subsea connectors will be on display as the Expro Connectors & Measurements business celebrates 30 years of Tronic products. The Tronic product name is recognized in the global subsea oil and gas industry as leading in the design, manufacture and installation of reliable subsea mateable electrical and optical connection systems.
To position Expro for the growth in the subsea market -- and to keep the focus firmly on quality delivery and subsea technology development -- the Expro Connectors & Measurements UK headquarters are moving to a new custom-built facility in Cumbria, demonstrating significant investment.
Expro's outstanding safety record has received further recognition after being named 2009 winner of the Oil & Gas sector award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). This is the fourth year in a row that Expro has won this award which recognizes its international safety performance, as well as safety processes and innovation in employee training and development.
Mr. Coutts said, "At Expro, our people are committed to delivering operational excellence to our customers, through a total focus on world-class performances in safety, service quality and customer care. We continue to develop and acquire leading-edge technology -- and to invest in the development of our people, products and services -- to position Expro as the partner of choice for the well flow management challenges of our customers. We look forward to demonstrating our ability to deliver at OTC 09."
