Aberdeen-based well intervention & completions specialist, Wireline Engineering, has announced organizational changes at board level to help sustain the growth which has seen the company expand its markets into more than 50 countries.
Bill Petrie, newly-appointed Managing Director, said, "Wireline has enjoyed exceptional growth in recent years, transforming from a local engineering company to an international provider of specialist products. Strengthening our strategic management team allows us to meet the challenge of running an expanded operation and ensures we are equipped for continued development."
He was previously General Manager and Director of Business Development, having joined Wireline in 2003, since when he has guided the company through its transition to become a successful innovator and provider of specialist technologies.
Neil Hall, a co-founder of Wireline and the driving force behind its strong reputation for technical excellence, becomes Director of Technology in a move allowing him to focus on maintaining technical standards and the challenge of ensuring the progressive development of new technologies.
The contribution to the company’s expansion by Alistair Inglis is recognized in his appointment as Finance Director. Alistair joined the company as Finance Manager in 2006 and is a member of ACCA and a graduate of Dundee Institute of Technology.
Established in 1998 to service the North Sea oil and gas industry, the decision in 2004 to enter the international arena has seen the workforce more than double, while turnover has increased fourfold. In 2008, reflecting its commitment to the North East, Wireline moved to larger, purpose-built headquarters at Blackburn Business Park, Aberdeen.
