IDS Appoints Franssens as General Manager

IDS, the world's largest provider of web-based reporting services to the upstream oil and gas industry, has appointed Douwe Franssens as their new 'General Manager -- IDS Group.' With an impressive and well-documented background in Real Time and Data Management services, Franssens has joined the team at IDS to take this newly created position.

Franssens' initial focus will be the Northern Hemisphere operations where he will mentor staff, drive growth and build on IDS's existing reputation for the highest quality of service and support.

Franssens' previous roles include Senior Product Manager and Global Real Time Technology Manager at Halliburton and through this he is able to bring a wealth of contacts and expertise to his new position. Douwe spent eight years working globally in the Dredging industry and then 17 years in the Oil & Gas industry with deployments to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Malaysia, Houston and Canada, in a variety of technical and managerial positions.

John Hanson, Managing Director of IDS, said, "We are delighted to welcome Douwe to IDS. The team at IDS is very strong and, despite being geographically diverse, is very close-knit. Douwe's placement in Calgary emphasises our growing presence in, and commitment to, the North American market. Despite the current business environment, IDS has maintained growth with continuing strong sales of our ground-breaking 'DataNet2' suite of reporting tools; Douwe will be a key part of ensuring that we continue to deliver both the innovative services and quality support that our clients have come to expect."
