The Ferguson Group has announced significant growth in its container division, Ferguson Seacabs, in Asia Pacific with a new base open in Singapore and major expansion of its operations in Australia.
Ferguson Seacabs CEO Eirik Ellingsen said, "We have secured several contracts in the first quarter of 2009 at both our Singapore and Australian companies and are very pleased with the ongoing development of our business in this important region. With a global fleet of more than 10,000 containers and investment of £25million (AU$60.8million) planned over the next three years across our Seacabs division, we believe we are in a strong position to deliver excellent products and service to our clients."
Ferguson Seacabs Pty Ltd, opened in Perth, Western Australia, at the start of 2007 and quickly became established as market leaders through their extensive range of DNV 2.7-1 certified offshore containers. Expansion in the region has been rapid, with equipment now also located in Dampier North West Australia, Darwin Northern Territory, Geelong and Barry Beach Victoria, and New Plymouth New Zealand.
General Manager Carol Pearce said, "Our progress in Australasia in the two years since we established a presence here has been excellent. Our fleet has grown to over 1,600 units, the largest fleet of DNV certified offshore containers in South East Asia, and we now have 14 staff, so it has been a very successful period.
"I believe that our rapid progress is attributable to the fact that our business is dedicated to offshore containers. The local Ferguson team are all passionate about what they do and focussed on providing customers with a good experience when they do business with us. In addition to our offices in Perth, Dampier & Darwin, our strategic agreements, including with Hooker Pacific in New Zealand, have enabled us to provide more service bases and improved logistics to our clients."
Singapore-based Ferguson Seacabs Pte Ltd has more than 40 different models of high-quality, modern containers available in the region, including an entire fleet of DNV 2.7-1 certified containers.
Singapore-based business development director -- South East Asia Steve Williams said, "We are off to an excellent start and believe that between the strong team we have recruited here and the high-quality of the modern container ranges available, we will provide a great service for existing and future customers."
