EOC has received extension for its second offshore construction support accommodation crane barge, the Lewek Chancellor after she completes her current contract in end April 2009.
The latest contract, worth up to US$8.8 million including the extension option, was awarded to EOC's wholly-owned Emas Offshore Construction and Production Pte Ltd by a global oil exploration and production company.
EOC's Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lim Kwee Keong said, "The back-to-back contract for the Lewek Chancellor underlines the firm market for offshore construction and production services. In addition, this award by one of our long-time client attests to EOC's ability to provide safe and reliable support services in the oil and gas sector on an ongoing basis.
"Our fleet remains well-utilised for the rest of the year and this latest charter will contribute to Group's earnings from 3Q FY09."
Since joining EOC's fleet in March 2007, the Lewek Chancellor has been kept busy with work in the Middle East, India, and Brunei. The Group's other accommodation crane barge, the Lewek Conqueror, has also seen high utilization since joining the fleet in April 2004. It recently clinched a five-year charter contract to 2014 for construction & production work.
