Sparrows Mourns Loss of Alex Dallas in North Sea Helicopter Crash
Following a Grampian Police press conference which took place in Aberdeen today, Sparrows Offshore can confirm that Alexander (Alex) Dallas, one of its employees, was aboard the Bond helicopter lost in the North Sea yesterday.
Alex, aged 62 and from Aberdeen, had been a crane operator with Sparrows since 2001 and had worked exclusively on the Miller platform since October 2008.
Sparrows management have been supporting Mrs. Dallas and keeping her informed since first news of the accident came through on Wednesday afternoon.
Malcolm Wilson, Executive Director for Sparrows Europe and Africa operations, said, "This is a terrible tragedy and our hearts go out to Mrs. Dallas and to their whole family. Alex had many friends throughout the Sparrows Offshore community and we are all deeply saddened that he should have been involved in such an air accident."
