Bergen Group Signs LOI for Surface Treatment on Offshore Vessel
Bergen Group has through its subsidiary Bergen Group BSM been awarded a contract for surface treatment with value of NOK 10 million with Havyard Leirvik AS. The contract concerns work on an offshore vessel with a Norwegian ship owner as customer. The delivery shall be
completed before end of July 2009. At the same time, a Letter of Intent was signed regarding a similar delivery, scheduled to become firm contract before end of the first quarter this year.
Bergen Group BSM offers surface treatment to shipyards and offshore related clients. The company is part of the group's business area
Technology, along with Bergen Group Skarveland (piping systems), Bergen Group Dreggen (cranes) and Bergen Group Vest-Elektro
(electrical installations). The business area's units have several external clients, in addition to key deliveries within the group. The
business area is approaching a revenue level of NOK 1 billion on an annualized basis and plays a key role in Bergen Group's strategy,
contributing to delivery excellence, improved margins and risk reduction.
Sebjorn Madsen, Executive vice president Technology, emphasized that the contract confirms that Bergen Group BSM is heading in the right
direction: "The company is about to achieve a leading position in the market for surface treatment for offshore related projects," Madsen said.
