Burlington Resumes Partial Production for Madden Field
Burlington Resources says that partial production has resumed at the Madden Field from two of the six Madden Deep wells, and the Train II unit at the Lost Cabin Processing Plant has restarted. The wells are flowing at 65 million cubic feet of gas equivalent per day (MMcfed), yielding plant natural gas output of 40 MMcfed. As previously announced in mid-June, the field's producing wells and the processing plant were shut in as a safety precaution after localized pipe deformations were found in the sour gas gathering system.
Burlington is continuing its analysis of the problem and expects to provide an update during its second-quarter conference call on July 24. Production capacity into the plant inlet is approximately 310 MMcfed, with approximately 200 MMcfed of treated sales gas capacity. Burlington holds a 42 percent interest in the production.
