ONGC To Continue Exploration in Rajasthan
ONGC has decided to drill four more well in the Rajasthan area after the encouraging results from wells drilled in the Kharpar area of Jaisalmer district in India. The oil and gas reserves found in Rajasthan desert are opposite Gabbar area of Pakistan where the neighboring country has been exploiting huge gas potential in its Sui gas field.
Oil India Limited (OIL) has also stepped up efforts by planning to deepen the wells drilled earlier, using new techniques. The company is currently producing natural gas from five wells in Tanot and Dandewala areas in Jaisalmer district.
