Madsen Retires from Ramboll, Sorensen Steps in as New Managing Director
After more than 25 years in the industry, 63-year-old Dan Madsen will retire from his position as Managing Director of Ramboll Oil & Gas and be replaced by 45-year-old John Sorensen. This is part of a planned generational change.
Sorensen is well-prepared to take on the role as Managing Director. He has extensive experience within the company and has worked closely with Madsen for the past 5 years as Executive Director and since 2007 also as member of the Board. "In recent years John Sorensen and I have worked hard to make this generational change as smooth as possible. I am confident that Sorensen will be ablo to continue our positive development," said Dan Madsen.
Sorensen has been with Ramboll since 1986. He is the man behind several of the company's greatest orders and has been responsible for day-to-day operations of the offices in Denmark, Norway, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, India and the UK.
"I look forward to the many challenges that lie ahead and I am confident that we -- despite the crisis -- are able to execute our ambitious growth strategy, which calls for a significant increase of staff and doubling our turn-over within the next three years," John Sorensen stated.
John Sorensen was appointed Managing Director as of January 1, 2009. Dan Madsen will carry on as a consultant for Ramboll Oil & Gas. The headquarters for Ramboll's oil and gas activities remains in Esbjerg on the west coast of Denmark.
