Pemex Increases Gulf of Mexico Activty with Latest Rig Tender

Pemex has issued a five part tender for three jackups and two self-contained platform rigs as part of a strategic initiative to increase production in several fields including Cantarell, Ku-Maloob Zaap and May.
Parts 1, 2 and 3 are for a 300' ILC jackup with a rated drilling depth of 25,000'. Parts 4 and 5 of the tender are for self-contained platform rigs with 2,000 hp and 3,000 hp ratings, respectively.
The terms vary in length from 476 days to 913 days with start dates ranging from April 2009 to June 2009. Tenders will be opened in January and awards will be announced in early February 2009.
