Aquatic, an Acteon company, is expanding its activities in Asia Pacific; a Singapore office has already been established and an operations base will follow shortly. This will improve service for customers in the region, who will gain from rapid access to Aquatic's range of specialist flexible handling equipment and back-of-boat solutions.
"The Asia Pacific subsea oil and gas business is experiencing significant growth, particularly offshore Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and China," said Chris Brooks, president of Aquatic.
"The new base in Singapore will be well-placed to meet the increasing demand for our services. The decision to expand into Asia Pacific has the backing of our customers and partners in the region, and they will benefit from our ability to mobilise their projects far more rapidly than in the past."
Catriona Kang, as vice president Asia Pacific, will head Aquatic's business in Singapore, and brings extensive offshore experience to the role. Before joining Aquatic, Kang was strategic account director in Singapore for Global Marine and has also worked for Canyon Offshore and Subsea Offshore (now Subsea 7). Local operators who understand the challenges facing subsea businesses in the region will staff the Asia Pacific base.
