Elf Petroleum Nigeria Limited's new FPSO, Unity, has begun receiving crude oil production from the Odudu Field offshore Nigeria. The Unity replaces the FPSO Domy, which worked for the past 15 years for Elf's offshore operations. The FPSO Unity has a storage capacity of 2.4 million barrels of crude oil and will be linked to all Elf's fields located on OML 100, including Amenam/Kpono, Ofon, and Odudu, which is currently producing about 20,000 barrels per day. Elf Nigeria currently produces 150,000 barrels a day of crude oil but production will almost double when the Amenam/Kpono field comes onstream in mid-July. At maximum production, the field is expected to produce 125,000 barrels per day.
The FPSO was built in Ulsan, South Korea and arrived offshore Nigeria at the end of April.
