RigNet Adds Explosion-Proof Wireless Camera to O&G Solutions Lineup
RigNet has announced the addition of a hand-held, ruggedized, explosion-proof wireless camera, called the SOIL RemoteView EX, to its lineup of SOIL Meeting video solutions.
SOIL RemoteView EX, powered by Tandberg's FieldViewTM EX, is designed for industries that operate in
potentially explosive atmospheres, such as drilling rigs, petrochemical plants, oil and gas refineries, and mining.
It enables users to troubleshoot from a distance, engage in real-time collaboration for faster, better decision making, and share expert knowledge across multiple work sites.
"With RigNet's SOIL RemoteView EX, companies can exchange critical information with remote engineering or
home office support to assess and resolve issues in real time. As a result, downtime and equipment failure can be reduced and critical information can be reported directly from the scene," said Hector Maytorena, RigNet's vice president, Global Sales & Marketing.
RigNet's SOIL (Secure Oil Information Link) network is a private extranet for the oil and gas industry, allowing
secure and collaboration among subscribers. SOIL Meeting is a video conferencing solution that uses the SOIL
network as the means for connecting participants. SOIL Meeting makes video conferencing hassle-free by
enabling companies to share a listing of their video sites in the SOIL Directory. This allows true plug-and-play
access to RigNet's SOIL RemoteView EX endpoints for video, voice and data transmission, including telestration and JPEG file transfer.
Constructed for the toughest environments, RigNet's SOIL RemoteVideo EX is EX-certified, explosion protected, drop-proof up to 4 feet (1.22 meters) on concrete and operable in temperatures of -10 degrees C to +40 degrees C. It is a lightweight, ergonomically designed hand-held device featuring high resolution LCD with touch screen support, an integrated spotlight for dark or limited light situations, and an audio headset for two-way communication.
