Halliburton Notes Court Ruling on Securities Class-Action Lawsuit
Halliburton announced that on September 29, 2008, the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas, issued a ruling on the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Supporting Fund, Inc. v. Halliburton, a securities class-action lawsuit.
The court's order denied the plaintiff's motion for class certification, which means that claims in this case must be pursued on an individual basis. The court will issue an opinion elaborating on its decision by November 3, 2008. At that time, the plaintiffs will have the option to file motions for reconsideration or an appeal. See Note 8 to Halliburton's condensed consolidated financial statements in its Form 10Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2008, for additional information regarding this case.
