Black Elk Energy announced that Douglas W. Fehr, an energy executive with 29 years of experience, has joined the Company as Chief Operating Officer.
Doug Fehr brings strong management, operations, and engineering leadership to the Black Elk Energy team. He has held leadership positions in facility engineering, construction, project management, compliance, operations and safety.
Fehr recently retired from BP Americas as Technical Director for a major pipeline system and marine terminal in Turkey. Previously, he was Director for the Sangachal Terminal in Azerbaijan where he led the organization through a period of tremendous growth. Fehr has also managed a multidisciplinary team for the field development of the deepwater NaKika semisubmersible project. His experience includes Project Manager for the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company in Cairo, Egypt and Facilities Manager for the Gulf of Mexico. In addition, he managed a special environmental compliance project for BP to enhance BP's ISO14001 certification process.
