Nortech FPSO Changes Name to Songa Floating Production
Nortechs FPSO ASA is changing its name to Songa Floating Production ASA in order to capitalise on its association with the other highly successful companies of the Blystad Group.
Nortechs is also making a management change with Eirik Barclay taking over from Harald Vartdal as CEO. Harald Vartdal will, however, remain with the company as COO. Eirik has previously worked in a variety of positions at Schlumberger, Aker Solutions, BW Offshore and Ingenium Process Solutions.
Eirik is looking forward to taking up his reponsibilities at the company and believes that the renamed company has excellent prospects: "Harald Vartdal has, since establishing Nortechs FPSO ASA in 2006, done an excellent job of building up the company to where it is today. I am privileged to be joining a team of highly motivated and skilled professionals and look forward to working with them to make Songa Floating Production ASA the preferred FPSO provider within its segment".
Carl Lieungh, Chairman of Songa Floating Production adds: "We remain confident that the strong market trend towards the use of FPSOs will continue, primarily due to their conceptual flexibility and cost effectiveness. I would also like to emphasize that the changes have been carefully crafted in order to add further market recognition for the company while maintaining our current strong project execution capabilities. I have complete confidence that the new management will succeed in their endeavors to build a strong market player in the FPSO market".
