Expro Snags Major Mechanical Wireline Contract Offshore Indonesia

Expro International Group

International oilfield service company Expro has announced a boost to its business in Asia after securing a major mechanical wireline contract and completing a second topside package for an international customer in Indonesia.

Expro has agreed the mechanical wireline contract with Total E&P Indonesia for work on the eastern part of the island of Kalimantan (Borneo). The contract is to perform specialized mechanical wireline services on the customer's offshore wells.

Five wireline units are being supplied. Expro personnel will run the equipment.

Expro in Indonesia has also completed a second package to engineer, supply, install and commission a production topside system for an international customer.

The equipment consists of a 44,000 barrel per day, single lift process module to install on a customer's floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.

Expro's Production Systems team designed, engineered and supplied the complete process module from the Expro Batam base, with detailed engineering support from its Houston office.

Expro's Asia region director Nigel Avern said, "These two contracts have proved a significant boost to our activity in Asia. We won the Total contract against very stiff competition and it has allowed us to establish a professionally-run operating base, which we are confident will allow us to go on to win more work.

"Finishing the second topside package was a great achievement for us with considerable effort from all involved. Both developments underline the commitment of Expro in Asia to delivering Excellence in Operations to our customers."
