Total is closing its Elgin/Franklin fields in the U.K. sector of the North Sea at 2300 GMT on Sunday for brief, planned maintenance. The fields are expected to resume full production by 1100 GMT on Tuesday, said a spokeswoman for the company. "It's 36 hours of planned maintenance from start to finish," she said.

The fields produced 14.6 million cubic meters of gas on Wednesday and 154,000 barrels of condensate.
