NUPENG Ends Labor Dispute with Transocean
Union officials with NUPENG have halted the strike, which disrupted drilling operations for four Transocean rigs currently working offshore Nigeria. According to Joseph Akinlaja, the strike was called off the evening of April 22nd.
The local branch of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) called the strike last week to protest disciplinary proceedings against some union members. Union leaders said on Tuesday the strike which disrupted drilling operations on the four Transocean rigs, did not have their backing.
