NPD Nods StatoilHydro's Drilling of Wildcat Well

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has issued a drilling permit to StatoilHydro ASA for wellbore 6608/11-6, cf. Section 8 of the Resource Management Regulations. Wellbore 6608/11-6 will be drilled from the Ocean Vanguard semisub.

The drilling program for wellbore 6608/11-6 concerns drilling of a wildcat well in production licence 128.
StatoilHydro ASA is the operator with an ownership interest of 63.95 per cent. The other partners are Petoro AS with 24.55 per cent and ENI Norge AS with 11.50 per cent.
Well 6608/11-6 is situated about 190 kilometres north-west of Brønnøysund. Production licence 128 comprises the blocks 6608/10 and 6608/11. The production licence was awarded in 1986 in round 10 B with Den Norske Stats Oljeselskap a.s as operator.
Wildcat well 6608/11-6 is well number 21 in production licence 128.

The drilling permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing the drilling activity.
