NPD OKs StatoilHydro for Drilling in Wellbore 15/5-7, PL 048

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has issued a drilling permit to StatoilHydro ASA for wellbore 15/5-7, ref. Section 8 of the Resource Management Regulations. The well is in production license 048.

Wellbore 15/5-7 will be drilled from the Transocean Winner semisub after the facility concludes drilling of wildcat well 30/9-21 A for Statoil in production license 104.

The drilling program for wellbore 15/5-7 relates to drilling of an appraisal well in production license 048.
StatoilHydro is the operator with an ownership interest of 78.2%. Total, as licensee, has an ownership interest of 21.8%. The acreage in this license consists of two parts in block 15/5 which lies north-west of the Sleipner field in the North Sea.
Production license 048 was awarded in the 3rd licensing round in 1977. This is the third well to be drilled in the license.

The permit is contingent upon the operator obtaining all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing the drilling activity.
