SCAN Revamps Seismic Vessel Stigandi's Engine

SCAN Geophysical ASA

On June 23, SCAN Geophysical ASA reported that the seismic survey vessel M/V SCAN Stigandi experienced engine failure during transit to its first survey area. The vessel was towed to port in order to investigate the damages.

Service engineers from the engine manufacturer have now concluded that the damages are mainly limited to broken cylinder liners and pistons. The repair of the main engine is well under way and the engine systems are now being flushed and cleaned. Sea trials are expected to be completed on or around July 7.
