Blackford Dolphin Takes Charge of Rig
Blackford Dolphin Pte. Ltd, a subsidiary of Fred Olsen ASA, has exercised a takeover of the semisubmersible drilling unit Blackford Dolphin at the Keppel Verolme yard in Rotterdam. The remaining part of the work scope will thus be carried out by Blackford Dolphin Pte Ltd.
Preparations have commenced in order to leave the yard shortly. The rig is expected to start operations in Ghana in the second half of the 3rd quarter.The cost of conversion at Keppel Verolme is subject to disagreement between the parties. Blackford Dolphin Pte. Ltd still considers the project cost to be within the area of US$580 million.
