NPD Contract Marks First Contract Win for BOS DP

BOS DP

BOS data processing (DP) is celebrating their first contract win. The contract, which was awarded by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD), marks a special milestone for BOS DP as it was awarded within six months of the division establishing.

Following the BOS 2D contract award by NPD in Nordland VII/Troms II for data acquisition, BOS DP was awarded the processing and imaging of the announced 14000 km data set as a combined onboard/onshore geophysical workshop. The processing will take place onboard, while the curved ray Pre-STM and final/residual velocity analysis will take place at a BOS DP office in Norway.

John Ege, VP Data processing said that the resources available to his team would ensure a quick turnaround for NPD.

"BOS DP can test and apply de-noise, SRME, and radon de-multiple onboard at an early stage of acquisition, providing NPD with splendid data at a very short time after acquisition," he said.

"It is feasible for us to deliver 2D PSTM results and PSDM results within 4 weeks after acquisition."

The DP division commenced with the employment of VP Data Processing, John Ege in January 2008 and is now a fully operational data processing division with 18 geophysicists, 90% having more than 5 years relevant experience and 70% having more than 10 years relevant experience. BOS DP is also one of the largest holders of Focus Software in Norway and Western Europe.
