Queiroz Galvao Reaches Mid-Point in Lone Star Construction
Queiroz Galvao Oleo e Gas says recently the dynamically-positioned semisub, Lone Star, held its first "tour" outside the drydock in Abu Dhabi. After the tests, she was positioned in the yard by three tugs.
For the engineer Aristeu Andreatta, manager of the project, the tests were positive and mark a new stage in building the rig. "We are almost in the middle of the road and all are very happy with the work done."
The Lone Star is a TDS-2000 designed semisub capable of operating in water depths up to 2,400 meters.
