In line with the global growth of its operations and the desire to provide close support to its clients, specialist wireline tool manufacturer Peak Well Services, is expanding from its Australian base to establish a new office in Aberdeen.

With new and growing business in the UK, West Africa and Russia, the Aberdeen office is the latest step in enhancing Peak Well Services' international reach and improving client support.

The company will provide the industry with a focused slickline tool supplier, which has a full range of equipment and vast experience of providing a quality service in competitive markets. The move also coincides with the recent delivery of substantial tool packages to clients in Aberdeen and the introduction of new technology to enhance client operations.

Peak Well Services has developed more than 30 industry leading modular innovative tools for the well intervention market, including the fully patented SIM Retrievable Bridge Plug & Straddle System, Peak Power Jar & Heavy Duty Pulling System. Manufacture from its five machine shops in Perth, Australia means the company is able to meet competitive lead times while the company size enables it to be flexible and responsive to client requirements. While the newly founded Aberdeen office will initially be responsible for providing sales support to the UK, Europe and Africa, there are plans to replicate the Australian business model in the UK, including engineering and manufacturing capacity.

Regional sales manager, Scott Mitchell, will head the new operation having left a similar position with an international oil services company. Having worked in the industry for more than 20 years, Scott brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position. His sales expertise is supplemented with an intimate technical knowledge of slickline, wireline and coiled tubing technology having worked in engineering positions both on and offshore.

Director of Peak Well Services, Kim Gardiner, said: "Opening an office in Aberdeen is a natural step for us. Over the past eighteen months we have significantly expanded our international sales and the North Sea is a major part of that expansion. We can now provide our clients with a reliable and bespoke service from a dedicated sales team working in their own time zone.

"The UK will provide new well challenges and as such, require new ways of solving them. Our UK and Australian management team all have extensive experience of working in the region and I am confident we can deliver quality standard tools and tailored products and solutions to all of our clients. We pride ourselves on responding quickly and efficiently to any situation and establishing an Aberdeen base will only add to this."

Regional sales manager, Scott Mitchell: "Peak Well Services in Australia has a proven track record for providing one off solutions that can be developed into product lines and I am confident that the work we carry out from our new base will lead to similar opportunities. The North Sea is an ideal environment for the products we supply and I am sure the office will be a great success.

"We already have good relationships with a number of major operators in the region and we will be looking to build on these by providing a local and reliable service. Being located near our clients is a major benefit to us and will ensure that we maintain our reputation for delivering excellent quality and timely results."
