Qserv Strengthens Asia Pacific Operations With Two New Bases
Qserv, the specialist well and pipeline service company headquartered in Aberdeen, is developing its operations in the Asia Pacific region by establishing two new bases.
Mike Henderson has been appointed in-country manager in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, while Rick Bowler has been appointed to a similar position in Jakarta, Indonesia. The bases will offer the full range of Qserv well and pipeline services with Mike and Rick being responsible for sourcing new contracts and building a business presence in their respective areas. The company has already established a base in Singapore as a strategic staging and mobilizing area to support operations in the region.
They will be exploring opportunities in an area which is experiencing buoyant market conditions and has high levels of exploration and production predicted for the long-term future. While they are geographically displaced from Qserv's traditional area of operations, both locations will adhere to and embrace the HSEQ policies which has seen the company win a multitude of regional and international safety awards.
With almost 30 years of industry experience working in the UK, Qatar, Libya and Indonesia, Rick Bowler was appointed to Qserv having previously served as Indonesia in-country manager with an international oil services company. Having held similar roles with three other oil and gas organizations, his extensive knowledge and experience will assist him in establishing Qserv in the region.
Mike Henderson joins Qserv from his position as business development manager for Asia Pacific with a global energy services business. His main responsibility was developing and growing the company's business activity and presence in the area. His wealth of business knowledge, coupled with technical expertise in well intervention, coiled tubing and drilling, will be vital to the success of the office.
Ciaran Dreelan, well services director of Qserv, said: "Opening our Asia Pacific offices has strengthened our position in the region. It has a vibrant oil and gas industry and I feel that with our technical expertise and the local knowledge that Mike and Rick bring to the positions, we can make the most of the many opportunities in the area.
"Health and safety will still be of paramount importance and the material and services provided will be as reliable and efficient as in the North Sea. Our aim is to be the best international multi-service provider and building on our presence in the Asia Pacific will help us achieve that.
"Qserv's focus is on providing a quality service, which takes into account safety, efficiency, reliability and flexibility. In addition, its innovative approach and ability to react quickly and effectively to customers' needs sets it apart from its competitors."
Mike Henderson, said: "The whole Asia Pacific region is a major growth area and I am very pleased to be joining Qserv at this exciting time. With the market opening up globally, our determination to ensure the level of service is the same or exceeded in the Asia Pacific as it is in the North Sea will see us prosper."
Rick Bowler, said: "Establishing an office in Indonesia is a positive move for Qserv. Having worked in the region for a number of years, our innovative and reliable service offering will set us apart from local competitors. My aim is to ensure that our Indonesia base is viewed in the same light with regards to health, safety and quality as our many sites across the globe."
