Aberdeen-based Norson Power has won several contracts totalling almost UK1.5 million. The providers of hydraulic engineering solutions, Norson has been awarded contracts to provide hydraulic systems for Technip's Dive Support Vessel, the Skandi Achiever and its pipelay vessel, the Apache, in addition to contracts for two other new build vessels.
These contract wins fuel the company's ambitious growth strategy of doubling its UK10 million annual turnover in the next two years.
Norson Power originally secured a contract for the supply, installation and commissioning of hydraulic power units, cylinders, control systems, and electrical interfaces to the Skandi Achiever on behalf of Divex, the Aberdeen-based industry leader in the design, supply, manufacture, research and development of diving and subsea equipment for the international commercial and defence diving markets.
The success of this project led to a number of further contracts with Divex for two new build dive support vessels operated by Technip and Subsea 7 and a contract to upgrade the existing pipelay ramp tensioner hydraulic system on Technip's pipelay vessel, the Apache.
Employing 70 staff, Norson Power focuses on the design and construction of hydraulic systems, equipment refurbishment and the supply of hose and connectors.
"We are delighted to have secured so much new business. This series of contracts underlines our ability to provide a comprehensive variety of services, all of which are tailored to the needs of our clients, says Gordon Telfer, managing director of Norson Power.
Norson Power is one of Scotland's leading hydraulic services companies and a major distributor of world-renowned Parker Hannifin products.
