Baker Hughes: U.S. Rig Count Up 12

Baker Hughes released its weekly rig count April 18, revealing a 12-rig increase to 1,827 for the U.S. rig count. The even dozen increase constitutes a 58-rig increase over last year's count at this time.

The offshore rig count added one rig since last week, with the total settling at 63, down 13 since last year at this time.

Canada's rig count took another hit this week, dropping 16 rigs to fall to 96 overall. This count results in a drop of two rigs compared to last year.
