Two exploration licenses in India have been awarded to Arrow Energy, which has already moved into action to take advantage of the opportunity.
"The first of two drilling rigs has been mobilized to the project area with drilling scheduled to start in the next couple of weeks," Arrow said in a statement issued to the press.
The Raj Mahal block in the state of Jharkhand and the Tatapani-Ramkola block in the state of Chhattisgarh have estimated gas reserves of 7.4 Bcf.
Arrow and Gail (India) both own 35% of the blocks. Tata Power Company and EIG Energy Infrastructure Group AB each own 15%. Arrow is the operator of the project.
