EnCore: Rig Secured For Breagh Appraisal Program

EnCore Oil plc announces that the ENSCO 70 drilling rig has been contracted to execute the appraisal programme for the Breagh gas discovery on UK North Sea Block 42/13. The drilling programme is expected to commence in early July and includes two firm wells; one well on East Breagh and one well on West Breagh. The rig contract allows the flexibility to drill additional wells if considered necessary, based on the results of the above programme.

The original Breagh gas discovery was made in 1997 by well 42/13-2 and was successfully appraised in 2007 with well 42/13-3, which tested at rates up to 17.6 million cubic feet per day.

Alan Booth, Chief Executive Officer, commented: "We're delighted to have secured a rig so soon after our success on Breagh. Positive results on East Breagh could add significantly to our understanding of the overall size of the accumulation."

EnCore has a 15 per cent. interest in the licence and Sterling Resources Ltd, the operator, has a 45 per cent. interest.
