Nabors Chairman and CEO Issues Statement
Eugene M. Isenberg, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nabors Industries Ltd., issued the following statement Tuesday, March 18:
I am saddened to confirm the shooting that occurred today at a Nabors rig operating in Yemen. Killed in the incident were a Canadian citizen employed by Nabors as Rig Manager and a Yemeni citizen employed by Nabors as a mechanic's helper. Also killed was a rig executive employed by Hunt Oil Company. Another Canadian citizen employed by Nabors as a mechanic was severely injured in the shooting. The perpetrator was a Yemeni citizen employed by Nabors for approximately nine years and who took his own life in the incident.
"We join with Hunt Oil Company in expressing our deepest regret at this tragic incident and in expressing our heartfelt sympathies to all of the victims and their families at this difficult time."
