International offshore accommodation specialists Ferguson Modular Ltd have strengthened their position in the Austral-Asia region with the award of two contracts worth a combined AU$1.5 million.
Woodside has awarded Ferguson Modular the contract for the supply of a 16 POB (persons on board) accommodation complex for the Pluto platform. The complex, comprising four 10.3 meter modules, will provide galley, mess, office, locker and accommodation facilities. All units are A60, DNV 2.7-1 and SOLAS certified and approved modules.
The company has also been awarded a contract by Oleochem Project Management Ltd, for the supply of a 6m A60, DNV 2.7-1, Zone 2 laboratory module for use on the Woodside Angel gas platform on Australia's North West Shelf. This unit will join Ferguson Modular's existing 48 POB accommodation complex already in use on the platform.
Gary Lindsay, Ferguson Modular Business Development Coordinator, said "Both of these contracts reinforce our reputation as a truly international accommodation provider. We have now fulfilled several contracts in Austral-Asia and look forward to continuing to develop our business in this region. The Pluto project is a world class development and we are delighted to continue our relationship with Woodside and be involved in this project."
The Pluto LNG Project is located north-west of Karratha, Western Australia and is scheduled to be developed as Western Australia's first new LNG project since the North West Shelf began production in the 1980s. First gas is scheduled to be produced in late 2010, providing regional markets with a clean energy option, low in greenhouse gas emissions.
