Venture Awards Petrofac Two North Sea Projects
Petrofac is expanding its North Sea activities with the group's Facilities Management (PFM) business announcing two project awards by Venture Production plc.
The first award, which has been made to PFM's Brownfield team, is for the Grouse development which is located approximately 7km to the east of the Kittiwake platform and forms part of the Greater Kittiwake Area. The development plan is to route production from the single production well via the previously installed Goosander Bundle. The Petrofac Brownfield team will be responsible for designing and installing all associated topside modifications to the Kittiwake.
The second award, which is also to Petrofac Brownfield, is for a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for brownfield modifications to the Audrey 'B' platform as part of the Ensign development. This award includes a commitment that, following project sanction, all Ensign topsides construction and installation scopes will also be awarded to Petrofac Brownfield.
Ensign is a new gas field in the UK Southern North Sea (SNS) and is located approximately 11km north west of the normally unmanned installation (NUI), Audrey 'B'. Petrofac's Brownfield team will also be responsible for designing and installing all associated topside modifications to the Audrey 'B', while further assisting with final commissioning of the topside facilities. This project represents the first piece of significant work in the SNS for Petrofac Brownfield.
Bill Bayliss, vice president, Petrofac Brownfield, said: "The awards, particularly the Ensign Development, represent a significant development in our relationship with Venture Production that is based on a track record of delivering designs that work and can be built.
"These new project awards are testament to the success of the recent projects we have conducted on behalf of Venture Production for both the Goosander and Greater Kittiwake Area Pipeline Projects.
"Brownfield is starting to win considerable amounts of repeat business with our customers and this is credit to the commitment and passion of our teams."
