PSA Norway Allows Exploration Drilling for West Alpha

StatoilHydro has received consent to conduct exploration drilling of wells 6407/8-4 S and 6407/8-4 A with the mobile facility West Alpha.

StatoilHydro has received consent to conduct exploration drilling of wells 6407/8-4 S and 6407/8-4 A with the mobile facility West Alpha.

The wells are located about 15 km northwest of Draugen.

In the event a discovery is made and with an accompanying sidetrack, the drilling of the wells is expected to take about 95 days. Start-up is estimated at mid-April 2008.

The West Alpha is operated by Seadrill Offshore AS, Stavanger. The facility received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in December 2001.
