The work is on the North European continental shelf and is based mainly on Fugro-UDI's survey vessel Skandi Inspector. The vessel will assist the CSO Apache with pre-lay surveys, ROV support for pipe and flowline laying and with direct ROV intervention on tasks such as subsea tie-ins.
Skandi Inspector is already one of the world's most advanced construction support vessels, permanently mobilised with full survey and ROV (dual Triton XL) spreads. For this contract the vessel will have upgraded ROV systems and will also gain a swathe bathymetry capability with the installation of a Reson Dual 8125 Seabat. Fugro-UDI will also work with client-supplied vessels to provide precise positioning, underwater metrology and other survey-based support.
Fugro-UDI provides a range of offshore survey and inspection services. It operates the construction support vessels Skandi Carla and Skandi Inspector as well as a fleet of work class ROVs, including the MRV & Triton XL class.
Fugro-UDI Managing Director, John Meaden commented: "Fugro-UDI is delighted with this major contract award which will further develop our existing long standing working relationship with Technip-Coflexip. We believe that the contract was won through a combination of strong offshore performance, continuous safety improvements and our response to constructive use by Technip-Coflexip of new supply chain management initiatives which have served to enhance value to both parties."
