Caledyne, a leading specialist in innovative engineering services and products to the energy industry, has announced the international expansion of its business with the opening of its new office in Houston, USA.
The Aberdeen-based company, which last year launched its ground breaking retrievable metal-to-metal (MTM) downhole seal system, the innovative Torus safety valve and a full range of downhole barrier valves, announces the strategic establishment of Caledyne Inc in line with significant demand for its products in the Americas and predicted growth in the market.
As a result of the success of its technologies in the international arena, Caledyne estimates its business will treble in the next 18 months, with more staff and further global expansion scheduled.
Heading the Houston office is Steve Jackson. Steve brings with him over 18 years experience in the oil and gas sector working within Business Development and Engineering.
Caledyne Managing director Roland Van Dort said further international growth would be considered in line with the company's planned expansion.
He said: "We have a number of clients already in the Americas but, by establishing ourselves in Houston, we are making a clear statement of our commitment to the American market and our desire to provide it with a first class, on the ground support service.
"Our technologies are ideally suited to the many applications in this mature market, from deep water in the Gulf of Mexico to high pressure/high temperature wells and gas wells in North America. We have spent three years perfecting our technologies for commercialisation, with several successes under our belt and are ready to build on the opportunities we have already secured in America.
"We are delighted Steve is joining us at a very exciting time for Caledyne. His strong technical background, including his considerable experience in downhole technology, will be invaluable as we expand our presence in the region."
Steve Jackson said: "Caledyne's innovative technologies are already being deployed round the world, and by establishing ourselves in Houston we are enhancing our offering to our global clients. There are considerable opportunities for the application of our metal-to metal seal and the Torus safety system in America, and we plan to exploit those to the full."
