2H Offshore, an Acteon company, announced it is now open for business in Kuala Lumpur in an effort to meet deepwater engineering demands in Malaysia and the Asia–Pacific region.
The riser engineering specialists made known their commitment to serve Malaysia with their expertise. Frank Lim, principal director, said, "I started coming to Kuala Lumpur on behalf of 2H Offshore in 2005. When it became clear that the requirements of this market would coincide with our core skill-sets we committed ourselves by forming a comprehensive plan to develop a truly Malaysian business in the Asia–Pacific region. We recruited local engineers and trained them so that now we can use them in our local office."
2H's expansion to Kuala Lumpur will be significantly aided by new local employees who are excited about the company's growth. Syed Feisel Alhady, executive director of the new company said, "2H Offshore is a name in our industry that is synonymous with high-quality engineering and the development of latest technology. Having been involved in the contracting world for some years I grasped the opportunity to be a part of 2H's growth in the Asia–Pacific region."
2H Offshore has already been involved in a variety of challenging projects in the region including Murphy Oil's Kikeh. Previously client contact was maintained from other offices; 2H is established in Houston (USA), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and London (UK), and is also developing a business in Luanda (Angola). It is intended that the new office will become a regional centre of excellence for deepwater riser engineering.
The new 2H office is located in the centre of Kuala Lumpur close to Petronas' headquarters, enabling efficient and regular communications.
