West Oil Farms Into Crackling South-1 Well

West Oil has finalized an agreement with Apache Energy to acquire a 22.5% interest in EP-341, offshore Carnarvon Basin, Western Australia where the Crackling South Prospect will be drilled around April 2003 by the Ensco 53 Jackup after the Cliff Head series of wells are completed in the offshore Perth Basin.

The operator, Tap Oil, interprets that Crackling South has potential to contain 30 million barrels of recoverable oil. It is located in 12 meters water depth and the estimated depth to the Birdrong Sandstone, the main objective sands, is around 350 meters.

There are many other similar prospects in the permit if Crackling South-1 is successful.
